In this in-person workshop, you’ll create a hand-stitched 6″ x 9″ sketchbook journal and I will provide all the tools & materials needed and I’ll guide you through all the steps. I will also bring several of my completed art journals to provide ideas and inspiration and I’ll share some of my page design strategies. In addition, I’ll introduce my favorite mixed media materials, explain how I use them in my journals and give you an opportunity to try them out.  We’ll finish by ‘breaking in’ your completed journal with a simple guided art activity to get you started on your art exploration journey.

Your completed journal can be used for so many things, including a gratitude journal, a travel sketchbook or, (my favorite) a safe creative place for expressive art play. Not only is journal-making a very calming and mindful practice, handmade journals make great gifts.
