We are searching for people who are looking to earn a little extra pocket money modeling for clothed figure/life drawing sessions to be held at Library 21c on Chapel Hills Road in Colorado Springs.

A figure drawing is a drawing of the human form in any of its various shapes and postures, using any of the drawing media. The term can also refer to the act of producing such a drawing. The degree of representation may range from highly detailed, anatomically correct renderings to loose and expressive sketches. A life drawing is a drawing of the human figure, traditionally nude, from observation of a live model. Creating life drawings, or life studies, in a life class, has been a large element in the traditional training of artists in the Western world since the Renaissance.

OUR DEFINITION OF LIFE DRAWING (FOR THESE SESSIONS)

We are NOT looking for nude models, however we are looking for models who are comfortable posing in fitness, beach or dance attire. We do have a slight preference for dancers who can pose in "dance attire", however, regardless of your gender, age (over 18 preferred) or body type, all are welcome to apply.

These life drawing sessions will be open for registration to anyone interested in working on their art skills and will be held in a meeting space at Library 21c. There will be a facilitator on site to help models get set up and to operate a timer. Each pose can run from 1 minute to 20 minutes max. A full session will last 2 hours and includes a few short breaks.

WHEN ARE SESSIONS SCHEDULED?

We are just getting started. Our first scheduled session is on Wednesday, May 3 from 11:30 - 1:30 and we are currently looking for someone to model for that session. If this session is well received, we are hoping to continue with the sessions on the first Wednesday of each month. However, we are flexible with our days and times and are planning to schedule these sessions on days and times that work for both the artists/attendees and the models.

HOW MUCH DOES THIS PAY?

We are offering $50 per 2 hour session (Models are expected to arrive 15 minutes early).

 

Model Requirements:

  • Aged 16 to adult (Note: Under 18 requires parental permission)
  • Able to hold a standing pose for 1 to 5 minutes
  • Able to hold a seated pose for up to 20 minutes
  • Willing to pose dressed in fitness, beach or dance-type attire (exposed arms and legs)
